A collection of my sermons, past and present.
I am an approved candidate for ordination to the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
I studied fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design earning a bachelor of fine arts degree in 2007. In 2013, being both propelled and exhausted by experiences working as a painter, musician and conceptual artist in NYC, I began discerning a call to ordained ministry in the ELCA. With fear and trembling and much confusion, I started the master of divinity degree at the Yale School of Divinity and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music in 2013, receiving my degree in 2016. Newly excited by regular ol’ parish ministry as well as faith-informed justice work, in 2016-17 I served as both vicar for Ballard First Lutheran Church in Seattle, WA and as an organizer for the political action and public policy advocacy non-profit Faith Action Network of Washington.
The next steps are not altogether clear. Fulfilling some final ELCA requirements for my training, I am currently pursuing a one year master of sacred theology (STM) at the United Lutheran Seminary. I live in Philadelphia with my wife Madelyn.
